HEIC stores high-quality photos efficiently, but some apps still need JPEG. Conversion preserves the decoded image dimensions; it does not carry over EXIF, GPS, HDR, depth, or Live Photo video data. A multi-image HEIF uses the decoder's first image. Complex or unsupported HEIF variants may fail with a readable error. Very large photos depend on your device's available memory.

Are my iPhone photos uploaded?
No. The decoder runs inside a worker in your browser. Only the decoder software is downloaded to your device.
Will photo metadata be kept?
No. The output is a newly encoded image. Camera details, GPS location, and other EXIF metadata are not copied.
Does conversion reduce quality?
JPEG is lossy. A quality of 90% is a good starting point. The pixel dimensions stay the same, but JPEG cannot preserve all HEIC color or HDR information.
